Barber Shop - Mobile Optimized LowPoly Art
Project Overview
Barber Shop Hair Cutting Salon is a vibrant 3D mobile simulation game that allows players to manage their own virtual barbershop. From hair cutting and styling to managing a steady flow of quirky customers, the game offers an engaging and playful experience. As a 3D artist on this project, my main objective was to design a colorful, stylized environment that enhanced gameplay and maintained high performance across mobile devices. The game’s charm comes from its cartoon-like visuals, friendly interface, and smooth user interactions, all supported by an immersive 3D environment.
My Role & Tools
In this project, I worked as a 3D Artist, responsible for creating the entire salon interior and exterior, as well as props and interactable assets used during gameplay. My work involved modeling, texturing, and optimizing all 3D assets to ensure smooth performance on both Android and iOS platforms. I designed key areas such as the waiting lounge, cutting stations, mirrors, chairs, and decorative elements that matched the playful art direction of the game.
To accomplish this, I used Autodesk Maya and Blender for modeling, Substance Painter for detailed texturing, and Photoshop for creating stylized textures and UI elements. The focus throughout was on maintaining a low poly count without sacrificing visual quality, which was essential for mobile optimization.
The Result
The final game was successfully released on mobile platforms and was well-received by players for its fun gameplay and eye-catching visuals. It achieved a strong download count and maintained a high rating on app stores, reflecting the attention to detail and visual appeal of the environment design. My contribution helped deliver a cohesive and smooth player experience, from the first haircut to the last customer interaction. The stylized assets I created not only enhanced the visual narrative of the game but also supported efficient loading times and seamless gameplay across a wide range of mobile devices.
